Liverpool were back in action in the English Premier League today when they travelled to face relegation-threatened Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium. The Anfield Giants failed to carry on with their winning mentality in the competition as they were surprisingly defeated 1-0 by Bournemouth. Philip Billing’s brilliant first-half goal was more than enough to see the home side bag all three points from the encounter.
Well, Liverpool looked like a totally different team in this match and they had an unconvincing performance against Bournemouth. The Reds created several goalscoring opportunities in the game but could convert none against a weak defensive side like Bournemouth. They were also awarded a penalty in the game to draw level but the opportunity got wasted by Mohamed Salah.

Well, I believe Liverpool’s defeat today explains why their huge victory over Manchester United in the competition was just a fluke. We could recall Liverpool’s previous game in the Premier League when they faced their arch-rivals Manchester United. The Anfield Giants played like a team back in-from as they ruthlessly thrashed Man United 7-0 scoring goals left, right, and centre. The same team couldn’t replicate such a performance against a weaker side in Bournemouth that are struggling to make their way out of the relegation zone. The Anfield Giants are still not yet back at their best and it is safe to say their performance against Manchester United was deceiving.
